Lilly COI’s mission is to explore the possibilities of transforming drug development through open models of work. We regularly seek knowledge and insights from a wide range of people involved in the healthcare ecosystem, because we believe that only a diverse range of perspectives will help us gain a true understanding of what patients and researchers need. With their valuable insights in mind, we are able to lay some groundwork for the development of solutions that make it easier to access information about clinical trials.
To this end, we are developing a series of exploratory prototypes. The prototypes leverage our open Lilly Clinical Innovation API (LCOI-API), and each focuses on different ways to leverage clinical trial information to benefit those who need it. We invite you to take a look at these prototypes and share your thoughts about them in our Application Lab (App Lab).
Explore the App Lab
In the App Lab, you can explore projects we’re working on, and share your thoughts on how we could improve them.
As you’re looking at the apps, ask yourself:
Does this make it easier for me to find information about clinical trials?
Would it be useful to me as participant in a clinical trial?
Would it be useful to me as the friend or family member of a person looking into clinical research as treatment option?
What additional features and/or fixes could make this better?
Please share your thoughts on these matters and any others that we may have missed. Your unique perspective will help to inspire new thinking and will potentially have a positive impact on how drugs are developed.
Watch the video below for guided, step-by-step instructions on how to access the apps and share your feedback.
We realize that we have only begun to scratch the surface. Your thoughts and opinions are essential in helping us to build on ideas that could have meaningful outcomes for patients. Check back with the App Lab often, as we’ll be adding new prototypes and making adjustments based on your feedback.
The App Lab is just one example of our commitment to the practice of open innovation. If you’re a programmer or developer, you might also be interested in checking out our API. We’d love to see what kinds of additional applications you would build in order to improve patient access to clinical trial information.
Also in the spirit of open innovation, we’re excited to be hosting Hoosier Code 4 Health this weekend, a 2-day codeathon during which developers, designers and health professionals will come together to evolve ideas and lay the groundwork for new solutions to address chronic disease. We’re looking forward to providing even more opportunities like this in the future to help foster more collaboration and innovation in healthcare.
We thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge and insights, and for your contributions in helping to improve the drug research and development process.
